The University of Geneva’s Faculty of Science is a world leader in research. It does work in astronomy, biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computer science, mathematics, physics, pharmaceutical sciences, earth sciences, and environmental studies, among other areas. The Swiss National Science Foundation funds two National Centers of Competence in Research (NCCR) in this faculty: SwissMAP and Planets. It is also home to many European research projects. The Master’s programs at the Faculty are a great way to start your academic or professional job. They offer paths into business, education, scientific administration, communication, and media. What these programs are about determines whether they are fully in English or a mix of English and French.
With help from outside partners, the Faculty of Science has started an Excellence Fellowship program for exceptional and highly driven students who want to get a Master of Science in one of the Faculty’s fields. To get this grant, you have to do very well in school.
The Excellence Fellowship gives a grant of between 10,000 and 15,000 CHF per year, and the winner doesn’t have to teach. The fellowship is given for one year, but it can be extended for as long as the student does well in school by the end of the first semester, which is usually three or four semesters for a Master’s program.
This program is made just for you if you are currently working on or have recently finished a bachelor’s degree and are one of the best students in your class. You must meet the standards for admission to the Master’s program you want to go to and be chosen based on how well you applied for the Excellence Fellowship.
